Not every team can, or wants to, put their data in someone else's cloud. Banks, healthcare providers, government projects, and any company with strict data rules often need their backend to live inside their own network.
That's why we built WoWSQL Self-Hosted: a complete Postgres backend you run on your own infrastructure, started with a single command.
One command to get started
docker compose up
That's it. No cloud account, no sign-up, no data leaving your servers. If Docker runs there, WoWSQL runs there: your own data center, a private cloud, or a single VM.
What you get
WoWSQL Self-Hosted brings the core of the WoWSQL platform to your own servers:
- Visual dashboard. A clean Studio with a Table Editor and SQL Editor, so you can manage your data without leaving the browser.
- Auto-generated REST API. Create a table and get a REST API for it instantly, generated from your schema.
- Auth. User sign-up and sign-in, with optional Row Level Security and SMS / phone OTP through Twilio, Fast2SMS or MSG91.
- Storage. File storage with bucket management.
- Realtime. Subscribe to changes and build live features.
- Auto-generated API docs. Always up to date with your schema.
Why self-host?
- Data stays in your network. Meet data residency and compliance needs by keeping everything on infrastructure you control.
- Full control. Choose your hardware, your region, your backup strategy and your upgrade schedule.
- No lock-in. It's standard Postgres underneath, so your data is always yours.
- Same SDKs. Use the official WoWSQL SDKs, available on 11 platforms, against your self-hosted instance.
Open source, Apache 2.0
WoWSQL Self-Hosted is open source under the Apache 2.0 license. You can read the code, extend it, and run it anywhere.
