Shared responsibility

We run the platform. You lock keys, SQL, RLS, and public files.
In short
- WoWSQL runs infrastructure and the control plane.
- You own keys, team invites, SQL, RLS, and what you make public.
- A leaked service_role key or public bucket is not a platform breach.
Who does what
WoWSQL runs the hosted platform. You secure your application and the data inside it. This split is the same idea as other cloud databases: we lock the building; you lock the rooms.
WoWSQL is responsible for
- Physical and cloud infrastructure (AWS regions you choose: Mumbai
ap-south-1and USus-east-1) - Platform software, tenant isolation, and TLS on our endpoints
- Hosted control plane (dashboard, billing, project provisioning)
- Platform backups on paid plans, as described in Backups
- Publishing incidents on status
You are responsible for
- Account passwords, 2FA, team invites, and who you make an owner or admin
- API keys,
anon/service_rolekeys, and OAuth apps - SQL you run, schema design, and Row Level Security (RLS) policies
- What you store, including files in public buckets
- Keeping your own exports. We are not your only backup
- How third-party apps and AI clients use access you grant
Public by design
A public storage object, an open table without RLS, or a leaked service_role key is world-reachable. That is not a platform breach. See Auth and Storage.
